I Can Lead

Children aged 12+ can register their interest to become a young leader on camp. This is where children can develop themselves as individuals and become leaders and role models for the younger children on camp.

They will be given a pack to complete on the days they are on Activity Camp and this will be completed with senior members of staff and coaches. All children get a free t-shirt at the start of the course.

Children will go through topics such as:

• Leadership skills
• Communication skills
• Organisation for leading sessions
• Health and fitness
• The role of the official
• Opportunities in sport and recreation

All children must complete 15 hours of volunteering and coaching to complete the ‘I Can Lead’ award. Once completed, children can then attend camp free as a young leader and help out with coaches running sessions and setting up.
